What do you do when it seems like you’re failing?

Sophia Amoruso says you become a girl boss by fighting, not whining.

First things first, you’ll make mistakes, you won’t get it right at once, you will evolve, you will learn about yourself and your business, But my hope in all this is that you will grow from it. Just because it’s tough does not mean that it cannot be done. You have the ability to achieve anything you want to, after all, no one can stop you from trying and trying again. Even when one person says No, there’s a Yes waiting for you down the line so don’t be afraid to ask, ask, ask!

Always keep an eye out for opportunities. They do not always come in the way that we think it should. Most of you are so focused on what you think success should look like that you’re not open to the clues and opportunities that are presenting themselves to you. The truth is, you cannot measure your business entirely by someone else’s standard. There are several roads to success. No business is set up the same way because no two people are the same. So focus on your own model, system and time. Challenge yourself to be a better entrepreneur every day and trust your journey.

The truth is, there is no such thing as an overnight success. Everyone you think made it all of a sudden, has been working  on their business for years, you just didn’t see them then. I know as a new entrepreneur, it may seem like no one is seeing you, your audience is not growing quickly enough, you’re not making sales, etc. just remember that the people before you experienced the same struggles. The reason why you know who they are now is because they did not Quit!

You have to persist, work hard and be determined to succeed.

One thing that will help you stick it out is your PASSION. If you’re passionate enough about what you’re doing, you enjoy it, and can do it for free, then even when it seems like the money is not rolling in, you’ll keep doing it because you love it, live it, enjoy it and believe in it. Your passion will be reflected in how you communicate your business to your customers.

Prioritize your client’s needs. Focus on delivering quality products and great customer service.

However, passion is not enough. You have to stop trying to push things that people don’t want. If you’re doing all the right things and people are not buying, check your audience, your product, and your message. If after revising it you’re still unable to sell, toss it. Sometimes, you just have to move past the sentiment and give people what they want.

I mentioned earlier about checking your audience. You have to know:

  • Who they are
  • Where they can be found
  • What they are interested in
  • Research their spending/ buying habits {This information will also come in handy when you want to run Facebook Ads}
  • Engage your audience!
  • Ask them questions
  • Answer questions
  • Reply comments
  • Don’t treat them like a meal ticket, connect with them so they can Know, Trust and Like you.
  • You need to be relatable.
  • Presentation is Key!
  • Do you half-assedly throw something together and try to sell it to people or do you invest the time required to make it sell-able? If you were an outsider looking to purchase, will you buy from yourself?
  • Is your product or service well packaged?
  • Is it attractive to people?
  • Will your product or service stand out in this noisy marketplace?
  • Are you under-delivering?

At the end of the day, remember it’s a numbers game. The more of your people you get in front of, the more chances of a sale you have. If they don’t know you exist, they cannot buy from you. Most people will not buy at first glance, they will observe you first. Everyday a new challenge will surface learn to roll with the punches and turn them into victories. Do not settle for a knockout!

“There are secret opportunities hidden inside failure” so do not be afraid to take a step. So what if you fail, you’ll find a window of opportunity or a door.
